Erling Blixt was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mané Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Juan Sebastián Puig fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Juan Sebastián Puig a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. If Tomás Olayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute Tomás Olayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Grox Team F.C.'s zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godofredo Oriol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 26th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godofredo Oriol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mané Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godofredo Oriol. Godofredo Oriol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godofredo Oriol to make the kick off. Mané Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Olayo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 83 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godofredo Oriol in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 90 minutes into the match, Grox Team F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Mané Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erling Blixt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Grox Team F.C..
