After 32 played minutes, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Michal Hojnoš came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Michal Hojnoš showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michal Hojnoš having to make a save. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match.

Åkeshovs reservlag's Alvar Johnsson was substituted for Björn Alrot. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Michal Hojnoš in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Åkeshovs reservlag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiph Sundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, André Johnsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Åkeshovs reservlag's Michal Hojnoš got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michal Hojnoš breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luis Andino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Michal Hojnoš came out and tried to block the shot, but Luis Andino slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 93rd minute. Filiph Sundström kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
