Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Esbjörn Fågel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Fernando Grealish ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 10 minutes into the match, Real Ale Madrid's Esbjörn Fågel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Grealish in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Real Ale Madrid's Laurence Markham got a free kick in the 17th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Real Ale Madrid's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Papo came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Real Ale Madrid booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esbjörn Fågel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esbjörn Fågel in the 27th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esbjörn Fågel, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The throw-in from Zachariasz Hoffman in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Jose Correa. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esbjörn Fågel to make the kick off. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stew Weeks in the 51st minute of play. Anselmo Papo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Papo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Seb Thackray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 60 played minutes Real Ale Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Esbjörn Fågel. Sammy Pullen hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Papo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The audience was convinced that Patricio Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Papo was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Real Ale Madrid's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Papo came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 74 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Illescas charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Illescas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Real Ale Madrid's Sammy Pullen got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Fernando Grealish received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Fernando Grealish hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Venezuela supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Real Ale Madrid's performance. The match ended with a win for Real Ale Madrid.
