The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Grealish got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anselmo Papo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Grealish, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play forced Real Ale Madrid's goalkeeper Anselmo Papo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Papo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Esbjörn Fågel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. Sammy Pullen charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sammy Pullen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anselmo Papo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 33rdth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Ale Madrid's Anselmo Papo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Stew Weeks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Esbjörn Fågel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Ale Madrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Esbjörn Fågel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Papo having to interfere. Fernando Grealish charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Grealish the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Real Ale Madrid's Fernando Grealish got a free kick in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Anselmo Papo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Abdulkerim Kunt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Fernando Grealish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The coaching staff of Real Ale Madrid protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sammy Pullen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Real Ale Madrid:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Anselmo Papo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 91st minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Real Ale Madrid's goalkeeper Anselmo Papo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 95th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Papo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Fernando Grealish got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Venezuela supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Venezuela would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
