After 2 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teobaldo Phelipe in the 3rd minute of the match. Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Atarrabi in the 6th minute of play. When Cha Fe FC's Jimeno Atarrabi in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Elvio Pacho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Antonio Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonio Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cha Fe FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xavi Iniesta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elvio Pacho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute of the match, Teobaldo Phelipe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teobaldo Phelipe to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Jimeno Atarrabi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cha Fe FC's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Pacho came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Cha Fe FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Elvio Pacho in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 72nd minute of play forced Cha Fe FC's goalkeeper Elvio Pacho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Basilio Jusepe came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teobaldo Phelipe in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hegoi Griful took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elvio Pacho, 0-3. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. The Cha Fe FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
