In the 20th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ysidro Ahumada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Ysidro Ahumada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Reasco Cuadra charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reasco Cuadra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Reasco Cuadra kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 33rd match minute, Supergato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perez Rajo to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ysidro Ahumada having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced Supergato's goalkeeper Ysidro Ahumada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Supergato's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ysidro Ahumada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd match minute, Supergato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zayvius Ruilopez to maneuver through the defense. Ysidro Ahumada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Pablo Diana thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Ysidro Ahumada, a very annoying self made goal in the 48th minute which led to 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Ysidro Ahumada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ysidro Ahumada saved Supergato from getting behind. Renán Maza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 70thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Supergato's keeper Ysidro Ahumada was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Ysidro Ahumada made a huge save. After 74 played minutes Supergato got a freekick which was hit by Zayvius Ruilopez. Fortunato Arranz charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ysidro Ahumada made a huge save. Supergato's Ysidro Ahumada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Supergato from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ysidro Ahumada. That made the score 0-3 in the 96 minute of play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
