Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Fulco Urra sent off a good shot on target. Ayudha á Bø made in the 23rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Ortega saved Lautaro L.P. from getting behind. 33 minutes into the match, Lautaro L.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Salvador Ortega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Andolín Echeandía sent off a good shot on target. Ayudha á Bø made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gary Medel however managed to control. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Ortega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Lautaro L.P. got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Marques. Salvador Ortega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leandro Marques was the one to do the kick off.
