Decathlon Anderlecht's Gregoire Humblets got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Teles charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Teles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pedro Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Ciro Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Indiano to maneuver through the defense. Decathlon Anderlecht's Ciro Lira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Decathlon Anderlecht from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Decathlon Anderlecht getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jesse Petermans hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Decathlon Anderlecht's goalkeeper Ciro Lira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Casaus. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mattijs Klaes in the 91st minute of the match. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
