An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Valadares in the 4th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Camilo Freixa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marco Valadares went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Paulo Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bolivia booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Ferrant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Julio Chicote's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlinhos da Costa was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 17th match minute, E.C 2 Janeiro RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Pontes to maneuver through the defense. Válter de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Fernandino got free with Carlinhos da Costa in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfonso de la Cruz's late challenge caught a E.C 2 Janeiro RS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfonso de la Cruz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Alfonso de la Cruz got a free kick in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Haroldo Sanches notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Bolivia's Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Mario Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Fernandino couldn't finish the play. Eduardo Fontirroig received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlinhos da Costa came out and tried to block the shot, but Eduardo Fontirroig slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 46th minute. The Bolivia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. E.C 2 Janeiro RS were winning 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Valadares was the one to do the kick off. Basílio Ortiz charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basílio Ortiz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Basílio Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Carlinhos da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Fontirroig in the 62nd minute of the match. Válter de Sousa scored 1-4 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Camilo Freixa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 75 played minutes E.C 2 Janeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Dário Gomes. If Alfredo Ferrant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Ferrant recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mario Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Carlinhos da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
