Demonde Jacobson made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Östen Svanér sent off a good shot on target. Karlus Waugh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Carioca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Östen Svanér got free with Demonde Jacobson in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Jarell Hill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jamaica's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarell Hill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Dedê Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karlus Waugh in the 23rd minute of play. Demonde Jacobson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. When Sebastião Mattos fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nordestão Futebol Clube's protests and gave Sebastião Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nordestão Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Sebastião Mattos hit a great ball. If Finlay Stair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson got control of the ball when Östen Svanér tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Mesquita in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Finlay Stair stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Luca Dalhouse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd match minute, Nordestão Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, Roger Mesquita notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson. Demonde Jacobson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gil Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Dalhouse in the 61st minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Nordestão Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Guilherme Zanette to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Jamaica's Finlay Stair slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gil Carioca. That made the score 3-3 after 87 minutes of play.
