Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Zorita kicked off to start the match. Jimeno Atarrabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Pacho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elvio Pacho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 9 minutes into the match, Cha Fe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Elvio Pacho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play. Elvio Pacho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elvio Pacho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Cha Fe FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Fidel Geofredo tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Elvio Pacho. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, Jimeno Atarrabi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cha Fe FC's Rogelio Ibon got a free kick in the 18th minute. Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. In the 32nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Cha Fe FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elvio Pacho. Cha Fe FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Elvio Pacho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cha Fe FC's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cha Fe FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teobaldo Phelipe made a kick off. Augusto Jurdan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavi Iniesta in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute of the match Cha Fe FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hegoi Griful ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 57th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elvio Pacho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the game, Cha Fe FC's Teobaldo Phelipe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Cha Fe FC made a substitution. Eduardo Mede replaced Augusto Jurdan. Cha Fe FC's Basilio Jusepe was substituted for Jimeno Atarrabi. With his leg Elvio Pacho managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Cha Fe FC's Elvio Pacho got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Elvio Pacho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cha Fe FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Teobaldo Phelipe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Elvio Pacho threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Cha Fe FC's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Pacho came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cha Fe FC throughout the match.
