San Lorenzo de Sarandi made a substitution. Ivan Errando replaced Venancio Piorno. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Seco was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Sarandi booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Leonides Rosio got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to San Lorenzo de Sarandi getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ivan Errando hit a great ball. If Ivan Errando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Errando in the 75th minute of play. Lester Serre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute Uruguay were awarded a corner. Jaime Cazalla went to the cornerflag to take it. 79 minutes into the match, Lorenzo Jerrold notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Lorenzo Jerrold kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenzo Jerrold in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. After 87 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lorenzo Jerrold who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on San Lorenzo de Sarandi's corner Lorenzo Jerrold fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. Lorenzo Jerrold's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Ceferino Cuervo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
