In the 7th minute Fidel Blunt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Hludzenski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabian Hludzenski was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Astral's Fabian Hludzenski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Sebastián Puig in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Astral was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Blunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Astral's Fabian Hludzenski. Fabian Hludzenski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fidel Blunt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Fabian Hludzenski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Fabian Hludzenski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Roch Kochniarczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabian Hludzenski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Astral's Fabian Hludzenski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of play. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabian Hludzenski. Fabian Hludzenski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The wind increased when Fidel Blunt made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fidel Blunt in the 50th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Blunt in the 53rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Blunt, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Roch Kochniarczyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roch Kochniarczyk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Roch Kochniarczyk who took care of the corner kick. In the 64th match minute, Astral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartlomiej Chazen to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Fidel Blunt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Fabian Hludzenski however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidel Blunt in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, Astral's Fabian Hludzenski got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Astral's goalkeeper Fabian Hludzenski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Astral's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Astral's Fabian Hludzenski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Sebastián Puig in the 84th minute of play. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. If Bartlomiej Chazen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador played a much better game than Astral and deserved their victory. The Astral players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
