An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 7th minute of play forced FCB team's goalkeeper Adrian Železný to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Železný breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes into the match, FCB team's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Adrian Železný reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FCB team's Adrian Železný played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Adrian Železný showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aaron Van Espen hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes FCB team got a freekick which was hit by Benicio Artizar. After a defensive mix-up in FCB team's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Železný came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Adrian Železný to make any attempt to save it. In the 63rd minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 66th match minute, FCB team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boudewijn Van Mellart to maneuver through the defense. Pieterjan Vanneste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FCB team's Aaron Van Espen got a free kick in the 84th minute. Adrian Železný took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Adrian Železný however easily saved by the left post. After 92 minutes, Diederiek Dirckx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCB team and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 played minutes FCB team got a freekick which was hit by Diederiek Dirckx. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FCB team throughout the match.
