The corner led Ecuador's Agustín Saelices to a score. 0-1 in the 19th minute. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Abeijon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 38 played minutes Ampthill FC got a freekick which was hit by Kain Havertz. When Marcelino Playo came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Ampthill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelino Playo couldn't finish the play. Marcelino Playo struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ampthill FC. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelino Playo made a kick off. Dean Hoskins charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dean Hoskins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute Marcelino Playo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelino Playo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Bernardo Abeijon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ampthill FC's Kain Havertz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bernardo Abeijon firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ampthill FC's Bernardo Abeijon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 74th minute of play. Marcelino Playo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After 83 played minutes Ampthill FC got a freekick which was hit by Kain Havertz. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelino Playo in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of Ampthill FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Abeijon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Abeijon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
