The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frederico Vilalobos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. 14 minutes into the game, Severiano Campelo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Severiano Campelo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nascente do Leça's supporters rose to their feet, but Severiano Campelo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nascente do Leça's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Frederico Vilalobos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Nascente do Leça's Frederico Vilalobos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Nascente do Leça from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Frederico Vilalobos made a huge save. In the 54th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Severiano Campelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 58th minute Severiano Campelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frederico Vilalobos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Frederico Vilalobos. That made the score 2-3 after 64 minutes of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Frederico Vilalobos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bogdan Gierasik hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severiano Campelo in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho pulled a muscle in his back after 88 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Novais during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. André Novais hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Diego Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frederico Vilalobos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Ecuador played a much better game than Nascente do Leça and deserved their victory. The Nascente do Leça players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
