But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Conrado Rodriguez sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Sαηgrε Azuɭ's Conrado Rodriguez. Bernhardt Reshauge made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Sαηgrε Azuɭ's Bernhardt Reshauge got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Artemio Nesto came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Sαηgrε Azuɭ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artemio Nesto couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrian Orzaize in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 93rd minute, Conrado Rodriguez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ur Cabral struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sαηgrε Azuɭ. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
