Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentinos Sabanis having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Honorio Efraim got free with Julio Vera in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valentinos Sabanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of the match. Garcia Ventura charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Garcia Ventura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. GloRy F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tadeu Luz in the 29th minute. The corner led GloRy F.C.'s Tadeu Luz to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Honorio Efraim's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after GloRy F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorio Efraim in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Valentinos Sabanis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Honorio Efraim. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valentinos Sabanis having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Valentinos Sabanis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 52nd minute. After 54 played minutes GloRy F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ermis Plessas. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curtis Gorman, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When GloRy F.C.'s Curtis Gorman in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Valentinos Sabanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentinos Sabanis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute. The GloRy F.C. players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
