In the 23rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Broom of the System DA13's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montenegro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Comunardo Caretti quite easily take care of the ball. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingemar Frisk got free with Julio Vera in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Comunardo Caretti made a huge save. In the 85th minute, Waldemar Gdowski made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustinian Prelipceanu in the 89th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Caretti having to interfere. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
