Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evert Holm, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The corner led Blue Mountain Goats's Erik Ekeroth to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Evert Holm might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evert Holm ran back to his position shaking his head. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them.
