Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Ingmar Kracke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After taking down the ball on Resistencia Tayrona FC's corner Bermudo Uranga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benedict Baird made a kick off. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 62 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's Ingmar Kracke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Resistencia Tayrona FC made a substitution. Maore Tejerina replaced Inguma Espejo. After 76 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Resistencia Tayrona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingmar Kracke didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Taurino Hernaiz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Taurino Hernaiz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Resistencia Tayrona FC had won after a very even match.
