Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teodoro Zamora was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrosko Rojas in the 23rd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ovidio Zapater got a throw-in 26 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Arrosko Rojas. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olo Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Arrosko Rojas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Martin Berriotxoa sent off a good shot on target. 39 minutes into the match, C.D. Ciudad de Soria's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Olo Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olo Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Lacasa's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 44th match minute, C.D. Ciudad de Soria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arrosko Rojas to maneuver through the defense. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olo Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Gerardo Pozo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chile and the C.D. Ciudad de Soria players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arrosko Rojas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. Orlando Casaus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Olo Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 59th minute of play forced C.D. Ciudad de Soria's goalkeeper Olo Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olo Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 65th minute. After some careless play in the C.D. Ciudad de Soria defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olo Kahn. The C.D. Ciudad de Soria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olo Kahn should have stopped the shot. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Qwinton Ricoy was substituted for Diego Gandia. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Redondo in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute Eron Patiño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olo Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. C.D. Ciudad de Soria's Ramond Landa was substituted for Domenech Villa. Gabriel Redondo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Olo Kahn in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olo Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. Mariano Lacasa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-3 in the 94th playminute. When the match was over Chile could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than C.D. Ciudad de Soria throughout the match.
