After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Gökçen Harmancı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 5 minutes, Franklin Sarron mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Football Wizards 59 and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 6th minute, Franklin Sarron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ognyan Klyashev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th match minute, Football Wizards 59 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Boström to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th minute Franklin Sarron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 24th match minute, Football Wizards 59 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Montes to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Football Wizards 59's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Spyros Chatzakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gökçen Harmancı's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Football Wizards 59 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Andreola to maneuver through the defense. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 40th minute Franklin Sarron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Sarron in the 45th minute of play. Aziz Fourny hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Football Wizards 59 were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Ognyan Klyashev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 54 minutes into the game, Clemente Montes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 59th minute, which inside left pole to 0-6. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. With a left leg Spyros Chatzakos saved Football Wizards 59 from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Sarron came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Costa Rica were furious when Efrain Moruga was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Football Wizards 59's Gilbert Paciuszko shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 84th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benito Sanz but with some difficulty. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Dobromir Zaremba tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Football Wizards 59 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aziz Fourny to maneuver through the defense.
