Veritas's Aldo Crisantemo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 11th minute of play. Veritas's Arturo Castronovo got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmondo Ciraci. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Castronovo in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. In the 29thth minute of the game Arturo Castronovo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Uruguay's Francisco Seco in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Veritas's goalie prevented a goal. After 34 minutes, Maximiliano Escribano made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Veritas's Aldo Crisantemo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Aldo Crisantemo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 37th minute of play. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 39th minute. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Veritas's Arturo Castronovo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Veritas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo Ciraci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aldo Crisantemo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arturo Castronovo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Sílvio Luís do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmondo Ciraci in the 56th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Carballal's late challenge caught a Veritas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevin Carballal helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Uruguay! Aldo Crisantemo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Gisbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelo Rocchetti charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angelo Rocchetti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Arturo Castronovo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 75thth minute of the game Arturo Castronovo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Castronovo in the 78th minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 80 played minutes Veritas got a freekick which was hit by Beppe Rosetta. Alberigo Antonangeli kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute Jaime Cazalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Crisantemo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberigo Antonangeli hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Jaime Cazalla sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Aldo Crisantemo threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Jaime Cazalla this time. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Aldo Crisantemo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 88th minute, Edmondo Ciraci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Aldo Crisantemo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Aldo Crisantemo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Castronovo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Veritas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Uruguay's performance. The match ended with a win for Uruguay.
