Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Mei in the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Pedro Indiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Bela struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a defensive mix-up in Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lyle Coppack stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariano Lacasa's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Lyle Coppack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lyle Coppack took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Mihăiţă Stolniceanu made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Carlos Mei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play.
