The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 3rd minute of play forced ФК Цомбомания's goalkeeper Frasco Morales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Gaxan came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 18th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Nottingham in the 24th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baransel Tezveren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shane Nottingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Axel Tasis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute, Baransel Tezveren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ФК Цомбомания fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shane Nottingham. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baransel Tezveren, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baransel Tezveren in the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Shane Nottingham made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Shane Nottingham took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 65th minute. If Baransel Tezveren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 minutes, Baransel Tezveren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ФК Цомбомания and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baransel Tezveren kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as ФК Цомбомания's Baransel Tezveren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-7 after 74 minutes of play. Benito Sanz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when ФК Цомбомания's Shane Nottingham shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-8 in the ordered_time% minute. A collision led to ФК Цомбомания getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Baransel Tezveren hit a great ball. Baransel Tezveren struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ФК Цомбомания. After 90 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shane Nottingham got free with Benito Sanz in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ФК Цомбомания were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
