Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. In the 4th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Navarro to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Ivan Navarro put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Honduras:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Resistencia:s goal. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Freddy Sabin took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Lautaro Navarro to make any attempt to save it. In the 13th minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaetano Mathieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Aballe got a throw-in 18 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gregorio Martinez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Martinez in the 19th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregorio Martinez. 25 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Bakker. After 33 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hugo Bakker who took care of the corner kick. Hugo Bakker made a great header on Resistencia's corner, it was just that Honduras's Lautaro Navarro managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 38th minute, Freddy Sabin made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Lautaro Navarro was a little too slow when Hugo Bakker got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Sebastian Villa made the kick off in the second half. Gregorio Martinez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Sabin in the 58th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Sabin in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gaetano Mathieu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Freddy Sabin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. The Resistencia fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Resistencia's Freddy Sabin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Sabin in the 71st minute of play. Moises Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Gaetano Mathieu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Hugo Bakker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Hugo Bakker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Hugo Bakker sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Freddy Sabin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
