In the 34th minute Alonso Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sam Marcos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 38th minute of play forced Nada Pontual F.C's goalkeeper Sam Marcos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Nada Pontual F.C's Macit Buyrukalp was substituted for Hortêncio Vander. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. After 91 played minutes Rafael Gallo rounded Nada Pontual F.C's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ambrosio Boni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peru were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Nada Pontual F.C to leave the ground with a draw.
