In the 2nd minute, Noah Leverenz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Rickard Ödman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 7th minute. The score was now 1-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Evaristo Gaúcho in the 10 minute of the game. Jose Correa charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Correa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A throw-in in the 16th minute of the game was made by Evaristo Gaúcho with Corbett Alonso as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After having played for 23 minutes, Saul Mambru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Mambru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Corbett Alonso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 4-0. Klaus Nørbom's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Klaus Nørbom helped the player get up and apologised. After 33 played minutes Clube Atlético Paulista got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Nørbom. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Evaristo Gaúcho's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evaristo Gaúcho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Clube Atlético Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rickard Ödman made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Clube Atlético Paulista booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Rickard Ödman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corbett Alonso in the 72nd minute of play. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Paulista's Rickard Ödman broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Mambru in the 79th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atlético Paulista's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aden Couzens came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Mambru in the 93rd minute of play. There was no doubt that Clube Atlético Paulista were the better team. Clube Atlético Paulista's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
