Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Delfines's Atilano Quinten. But to his dismay, Atilano Quinten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 7th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Patrone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matías Patrone came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Peru booed when Los Delfines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Orzaize didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arquímedes Cesario, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Patrone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Delfines's Matías Patrone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of play. In the 29th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Patrone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matías Patrone saved Los Delfines from getting behind. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 34th minute of play. Matías Patrone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arquímedes Cesario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomáš Kožený in the 43rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Atilano Quinten made the kick off in the second half. Los Delfines's Arquímedes Cesario managed to work through Peru's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Arquímedes Cesario dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilano Quinten in the 64th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los Delfines's Ambrosio Bartolome was substituted for Tomáš Kožený. Los Delfines's Oliver Bierhoff was substituted for Arquímedes Cesario. Oscar Orzaize hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Matías Patrone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Los Delfines's Matías Patrone got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Regis in the 90th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliver Bierhoff in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. If Ambrosio Bartolome had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
