Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Axel Tasis kicked off to start the match. 2 minutes into the game, Gelu Alexandrescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 5 minutes into the game, Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Cezar Cucu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 7th minute Cezar Cucu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gelu Alexandrescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Benito Sanz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Vali Cucu shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vali Cucu in the 35th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Vali Cucu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's supporters rose to their feet, but Vali Cucu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati were winning 0-8.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gelu Alexandrescu made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Cezar Cucu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vali Cucu scored 0-11 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Denis Dorlea scored 0-12 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 69 minutes into the match, Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Vali Cucu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gelu Alexandrescu went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-13 was the resulting score. 73 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gelu Alexandrescu. Gelu Alexandrescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gelu Alexandrescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Gelu Alexandrescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-14. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Cezar Cucu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Vali Cucu notched a goal, 0-15, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Doru Barna took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gelu Alexandrescu in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 90th play minute Cezar Cucu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benito Sanz. 0-16. When the match was over Fotbal Club Otelul Galati could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
