In the 5th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manfred Rudqvist in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manfred Rudqvist in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 11 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agnaldo Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ľubomír Timčo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Jonathan Venegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United FC the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Martini. Manchester United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Bruno Martini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Rudqvist in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 46th minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Bruno Martini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Simão de Toledo hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Patricio Costa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manfred Rudqvist went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 73 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Saraiva. In the 74th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Martini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Bruno Martini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
