Pedro Manzanares was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jonathan Lopez. In the 25th minute, Felippe Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Naldo Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrique Borges in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. After 31 minutes, Henrique Borges made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felippe Pitta in the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute of the match Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Naldo Valladares ran over to the corner to take the kick. Henrique Borges could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Edu Carvalho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 47th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hansjörg Wastl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 60th minute. In the 61st match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Tafalla to maneuver through the defense.
