Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Harold Willson sent off a good shot on target. After 33 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nelsinho Nascimento was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 36th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiago Gabriel Vieiras short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronaldão Paulista to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Ronaldão Paulista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Ronaldão Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Guará FC's Nelsinho Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Guará FC from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Tiago Gabriel Vieira put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. If Ronaldão Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Paulista in the 84th minute of play. If Zé Pedro Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Harold Willson. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Guará FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
