The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Tenorio got free with Alexander Van Houdtvinck in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Quebracho FC's Jose Manuel Arias got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Many of Peru's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Peru may have spent more time on the ball, but Quebracho FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
