When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Sam Campbell took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Erasmo Diegotxe to make any attempt to save it. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Šedina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erasmo Diegotxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khalid Parry in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Boukjan Bunt came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
