After 2 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. 5 minutes into the match, KKS Lech Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Souad Brahimi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliusz Marchefka in the 11th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match, Jedrzej Rudy got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benito Sanz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 22 played minutes KKS Lech Poznań got a freekick which was hit by Izydor Wasikowski. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Costa Rica were awarded a corner. Axel Tasis went to the cornerflag to take it. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Souad Brahimi made a huge save. After 57 minutes, Efrain Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the KKS Lech Poznań players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 97th minute of the match KKS Lech Poznań got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rafal Juszkowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 97th match minute, KKS Lech Poznań was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izydor Wasikowski to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. KKS Lech Poznań had played much better football throughout.
