After 4 played minutes, Fala Sério FC's Kauan Santos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fala Sério FC reached it. In the 8th minute, Kauan Santos made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Benê Aguiar hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. André Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, André Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fala Sério FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kauan Santos in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Afonsinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 38th match minute, Fala Sério FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Souto to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Marques having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fala Sério FC:s goal. The referee gave Fala Sério FC a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kauan Santos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Mariano during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vito de Salles in the 64th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Afonsinho Marques came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 84 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. In the 85th minute of the match Vito de Salles sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Raimundo Pernambucano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Camilo Gaos got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. 99 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Azevedo. When the match was over Fala Sério FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
