Thanks to some nice moves Esteban Ikatz could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Marcos Cotilla however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 27th minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Inocencio Veronica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafaela FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nico Veit in the 33rd minute. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio in the 44th minute. After 45 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Nico Veit. After 46 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. Rafaela FC's Inocencio Veronica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 53rd minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Panama's goalie and right to Esteve Iliana. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Panama's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo-Sebastian Palacio, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Panama booed when Rafaela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Ikatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafaela FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Panama for a fine match.
