Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerardo Beard in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dwight Schrute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. In the 68th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Alberto Tafalla heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 73rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jospeh McNally saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Brooklyn SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Brooklyn SC's Walter Spivey was substituted for Gerardo Beard. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Brooklyn SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. After 86th play minutes Felix Augustin shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Dante Lacasa and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 90th minute, Felix Augustin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brooklyn SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
