Alan Tamayo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 5 minutes into the match. In the 5th minute, one of Chile:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chile. Thiago Pliego had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Zhao Sen Yang's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Zhao Sen Yang sent off a good shot on target. Thiago Pliego was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zhao Sen Yang showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 26 minute of play. Zhao Sen Yang might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Pliego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zhao Sen Yang ran back to his position shaking his head. Zhao Sen Yang received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Thiago Pliego came out and tried to block the shot, but Zhao Sen Yang slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 42nd minute. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Casaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ivan Chiuzbaian quite easily take care of the ball. Ricardo Jenaro kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 77thth minute of the game Zhao Sen Yang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zhao Sen Yang scored 5-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thiago Pliego, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But to his dismay, Zhao Sen Yang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. In the 94th minute, Ricardo Jenaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chile had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
