In the 9th minute, Capitala's Zorko Doro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Capitala's Lütfi Soner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mónico Bacquet was slow to take the kick. During this time Capitala's players had a chance to rest. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Capitala's goalie prevented a goal. Paulo Renato Gaspar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Renato Gaspar got free with Julio Vera in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zorko Doro made a kick off. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Lütfi Soner made a huge save. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Renato Gaspar's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lütfi Soner was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Capitala booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Capitala's Zorko Doro in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 71st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfi Soner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lütfi Soner made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bilgehan Bakkalbaşıoğlu in the 76th minute of play. Bilgehan Bakkalbaşıoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lütfi Soner in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute of the match Mónico Bacquet sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Paulo Renato Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute Paulo Renato Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Sebastián Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Sebastián Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Capitala support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
