The supporters of Mexico booed when Leicester Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michal Budzyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camron Rhodes in the 6th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grant Blacknell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Leicester Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Grant Blacknell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grant Blacknell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 15th minute of play. Grant Blacknell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 0-1 became the score in the 22nd minute when Joel Gaona elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 28th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 29th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Grant Blacknell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Leicester Lions's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Leicester Lions's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grant Blacknell came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Şükür Hagi to strike the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Grant Blacknell made a huge save. In the 60th minute Sebastien Clifford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Camron Rhodes in the 62nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Mexico's Facundo Cadaval. 63 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Grant Blacknell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Grant Blacknell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Grant Blacknell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Blacknell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Leicester Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Grant Blacknell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grant Blacknell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Leicester Lions's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Grant Blacknell in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
