The audience thought a goal was coming when Kevin Mastache got free with Luis Täger in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coronel Castro in the 74th minute of play. Samuel Ryynänen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro.
