The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. When Hector Covarrubias, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 13 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Larra Briz was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Jaime Pardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Larra Briz was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Hector Covarrubias capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hector Covarrubias really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Juan Diego Tenorio made in the 37th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Jaime Pardo immediately put the ball in play. In the 42nd minute, Ostadar Ruega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Pardo got free with Larra Briz in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jaime Pardo in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Larra Briz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The throw-in from Juan Diego Tenorio in the 47th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C.S.D Punta Ballena's Leo Busvidad. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Busvidad, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Larra Briz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 56th minute of the match.
