Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thames Ironworks FC. In the 23rd minute Niklas Bäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torgny Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Thames Ironworks FC were awarded a corner. Yngve Wennerquist went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Rickard Nilsson managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Bäck in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niklas Bäck. Rickard Nilsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Niklas Bäck sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of play forced Thames Ironworks FC's goalkeeper Dick Melander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thames Ironworks FC's Dick Melander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niklas Bäck to make the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niklas Bäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgny Forsman in the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Forsman in the 68th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yngve Wennerquist who took care of the corner kick. Rickard Nilsson was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Bäck in the 74th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Bäck came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Thames Ironworks FC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Säv. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torgny Forsman in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Thames Ironworks FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Säv didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magnus Engström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
