A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Grant Blacknell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tod Freeman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. 30 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grant Blacknell. Leicester Lions's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Şükür Hagi tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tod Freeman in the 36th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Leicester Lions getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Will Patton hit a great ball. Grant Blacknell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Leicester Lions's Will Lemerond got a free kick in the 59th minute. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Grant Blacknell made a huge save. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Grant Blacknell came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 66th minute. When Tod Freeman came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Leicester Lions fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod Freeman couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Grant Blacknell firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tod Freeman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şükür Hagi, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After a rather tough play, Leicester Lions's Camron Rhodes got a free kick in the 94th minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
