After 30 minutes SC Atabueira's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Mexico's Facundo Cadaval to fire away a dangerous shot which Idalécio Carrasqueira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Zorita in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Idalécio Carrasqueira saved SC Atabueira from getting behind. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Mexico booed when SC Atabueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Eiró didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belchior Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Josué Campelo to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Luca Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Idalécio Carrasqueira. SC Atabueira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luca Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Josué Campelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute Belchior Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SC Atabueira.
