Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 9th minute of the match, Carlo Pellecchia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 10th minute of the match Deportivo De La Prugna got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Mastrocola ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Deportivo De La Prugna's corner Alfredo Mastrocola fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Manzanares quite easily take care of the ball. If Ranko Tocos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfonso Nicolini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo De La Prugna's goalkeeper Alfonso Nicolini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Alfonso Nicolini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. The supporters of Deportivo De La Prugna booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Santino Seco got a free kick in the 24th minute. Deportivo De La Prugna's Alfonso Nicolini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 27th minute of play. Alfonso Nicolini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo De La Prugna's goalkeeper Alfonso Nicolini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Colombia's Luis Cazalla got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Joshua Garrido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo De La Prugna's Alfredo Mastrocola. But to his dismay, Alfredo Mastrocola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 54 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Pellecchia came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Nicolini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Mastrocola in the 60th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santino Seco in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfonso Nicolini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Deportivo De La Prugna's Lukas Busk was substituted for Alfredo Mastrocola. Deportivo De La Prugna's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Abram Secada scored to the left of an out of position Alfonso Nicolini, making the score, 2-2. 83 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Secada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfonso Nicolini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Santino Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Secada got free with Alfonso Nicolini in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
