In the 71st minute, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 76th minute of play forced CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Paulo Maldini almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. 93 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Tenorio came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The CERRO PORTEÑO fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
